2016 has been a busy year for Louise Bagewitz. She was elected one of Sweden’s top talents by the business magazine Veckans Affärer and she made it to the top ten on the list of ”Future women leaders”. By mid-August she took yet another big step in her career.  After six years at Nobia Louise is moving on to a new position as CIO and Head of Business Support at IST. IST, based in Växjö, delivers solutions and services within administration, learning and scheduling to schools and municipalities.

As CIO Louise will be driving the IT agenda and in the role as Head of Business Support she will be responsible for the central support functions such as HR, Legal, Administration, Security and Procurement. Louise will also be a member of the IST Group Management team.

”I am looking forward to further develop IT at IST and I believe my experiences from Nobia will be valuable coming to the strategic decisions and changes we are going to make. Being responsible for the entire Business Support function also gives me the possibility to develop, optimize and increase the quality of our central functions, something I believe will have a positive effect on the entire company” Louise says.

For IST, the recruitment of Louise is one of several strategic steps towards ensuring the position as the number one company in Scandinavia for everything related to school and learning.
Tommy Eklund, CEO at IST, stresses the importance of having the right person in charge of the Business Support function. ”This is a key role that will be of great importance for our way forward. We want to make real difference in society so we need to make sure that the people we hire share that goal. Louise is one of those people. She will contribute in many ways with her extraordinary drive and a personality that fits us perfectly.”

”Right now the situation for IST is very interesting. We are getting more attention and more positive feedback than ever before - and we are growing on all markets. Louise will play an important part in how we meet this increased interest with our new cloud based offer for both administration and learning”, says Tommy. Louise has aimed for a CIO position for some time. ”Yes, taking on a CIO role has definitely been one of my goals. I am also very happy to get the opportunity to do this in a company that wants to make a difference in society, Louise says.

IST, with five million users, is one of the largest companies within the school and learning segment in Scandinavia. During the last couple of years major changes have been made to meet demands from new customer groups, e.g. a unique Learn offer was recently released. IST has 270 employees with offices in Växjö (HQ), Stockholm, Oslo and Roskilde.
